Long Bay, a small Resort consisting of just 20 Rooms and 5 Cottages, has been run by the Lafaurie family since 1966. The Hotel, more like a large Inn than a typical modern Resort, is situated on a peninsula with a quiet Bay on one side and a beautiful Beach on the other. Most people in Antigua will agree that the beach at Long Bay is by far the best in its natural beauty and its friendliness towards bathers.

Long Bay's Style is truly Antiguan (Caribbean). They are a laid back personal place with emphasis placed on relaxation and personal service. No numbers for the guests here. They strive at learning your name, your favorite drink, your quirky habits. To insure a truly laid back experience they DO NOT offer personal phones, television, air conditioning, noisy pursuits or organized activities. 25 rooms, suites and cottages

Long Bay's accommodations all face the Bay. The cottages are scattered around the landscape affording privacy along with the ability to catch the easterly breeze. The Rooms are all just feet from the bayside facing east which guarantees beautiful sunrises and constant trade winds.

LOWER BEDROOM

All the rooms are just feet from the Bay facing East. The Lower ones are spacious and comfortably furnished in an island style with grass rugs, cane furniture, one King or two Twin beds, great large head showers, huge towels and full size bars of soap. They all offer large private balconies, the balconies boast, the most comfortable Adirondack style chair you will ever enjoy, overlooking the lagoon. The Lower rooms are on the ground floor and do not offer ceiling fans; fans are needed rarely, as there is a constant breeze (Wind) at Long Bay. All the accommodations are media, stress and hassle free, they do not offer personal telephones, AC or TV.

UPPER BEDROOM
All the rooms are just feet from the Bay facing East. The Upper rooms are the most popular. These rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished in an island style with grass rugs, cane furniture, one King or two Twin beds, great large head showers, huge towels and full size bars of soap. They all offer large private balconies, the balconies boast, the most comfortable Adirondack style chair you will ever enjoy, overlooking the lagoon. The Upper rooms are on the second floor and have ceiling fans for your comfort, although these fans are needed rarely. All the accommodations at Long Bay are media, stress and hassle free, they do not offer personal telephones, AC or TV.

THE ROUND HOUSE SUITE

This cottage was originally designed to be the pub for the visiting gentlemen; the ladies were of course expected to retire to the library and sip sherry while chatting. As attitudes were changing it was never used for its original purpose and was turned into a living space. The cottage is a rustic, hexagonal, wooden. West Indian styled space with lots of windows and sunshine. It offers a four poster queen bed, kitchenette and shower room. The Round House is perfect for the seasoned Caribbean traveler.

THE HILL HOUSE SUITE

This Cottage is a large studio, with a cathedral ceiling and King bed, tucked into the side of the hill. It offers an attractive balcony, full kitchen, a walk-in dressing room and a bathroom. Perfect for a couple looking for a little more space and privacy.

THE CLIFF HOUSE COTTAGE

This cottage is positioned above the main hotel and is very similar to the View House in size & style but offers only 1 & 1/2 baths. It offers a King bedroom, kitchen, separate living area with 2 sofa beds and a private stone patio. Ideal for a family of four.

THE HARBOR HOUSE COTTAGE

This cottage is a traditional hip-roofed house right next to the dock with private patio; open-plan king bedroom, bathroom and large living area with kitchen, dining area and relaxation space and 2 sofa beds. Harbour House is Chris's personal favorite, as it just has a good feeing. This house is open plan so for more then a couple one loses a bit of privacy.

THE VIEW HOUSE COTTAGE

Located high above the main hotel with a large wooden deck offering spectacular views of both the Beach side and the Bay Side. There is a personal hammock for naps, a King bedroom, a full kitchen, large living area with 2 sofa beds and boasts two separate bathrooms. Ideal for a family of four or two friendly couples.

Facilities and amenities

Dining at the resort is a special treat. In the main Club House the Turtle restaurant offers a full breakfast menu spiced with local fruits. Dinner is predominately a global experience, offering North American, European, and Caribbean flavors. Lunch is served on the terrace at The Beach House restaurant offering a wide choice including Salads, Sandwiches, Burgers, Omelets, Local fish and more.

Drinks in the relaxed atmosphere Cocktail Bar - The lounge is on 3 levels allowing you to always find a quiet and undisturbed corner or to meet with fellow guests at the bar and marvel at Big Sam's 36 year skills in blending just the right concoction. The Games room offers a more active cocktail environment: enjoy cooling Caribbean Fizzes while playing scrabble, bridge, hoopla, darts or table tennis. Long Bay also offers a well stocked library with approximately 1000 titles.

White sand beaches and warm seas await you at Long Bay Hotel. The beach area is protected by an offshore barrier reef providing a calm lagoon-like swimming area in-shore of the reef and excellent snorkeling just one hundred feet from the beach. Complimentary snorkeling equipment is available to hotel guests so that you may enjoy the underwater world of coral and colorful fish.
All water sports are available in the Bay. These include Sunfish sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking, they also offer Water Skiing, In-Shore Fishing and Snorkeling. Most of their guests prefer to snorkel off the Beach at Long Bay as there is a barrier reef just off shore that is protected and perfect for the beginner as well as the more advanced adventurer. They also boast an all-weather Championship Tennis court. Please remember to pack your racquets, tennis shoes and balls.

- DRESS - is Casual... Shirts or Wraps at lunch. No shorts after 7:00pm. Gentlemen long pants and shirts with collar in the evening.
- ROOM SERVICE - limited Room Service is available - Breakfast and Special Occasion Diners.
- LAUNDRY - Next day service - weather permitting!
- FRONT DESK - can arrange car rental, yacht charter, golf, horseback riding, sightseeing, island tours and island hopping.
- TIPPING - all employees receive a portion of the gratuity pool created by the service charge on guest accounts. Therefore additional tipping is not necessary, but at your discretion for exemplary service.
