Cayman Turtle Farm
Cayman Turtle FarmThe only one of its kind in the world, Cayman Turtle Farm is home to over 16,000 green sea turtles, ranging in size from six ounces to six hundred pounds each! Nowhere else can you see an endangered species so successfully raised for conservation. As Grand Cayman's largest land based attraction, the Turtle Farm has more than 340,000 visitors every year. As a visitor to the farm you will actually see a working farm, which is both educational and entertaining. The farm is a modern-day reminder of the turtle's role in the history of the Cayman Islands. Visitors may leisurely walk around the tanks observing the green sea turtles from the tiniest hatchlings to the massive adults swimming in the breeding pond. A selected group of young turtles is set aside to be held for a unique photo opportunity. Tours of the farm are self-guided and take approximately 20 - 30 minutes to complete. The farm is wheelchair accessible. Witness this awe-inspiring miracle of nature. The Farm is open seven days a week, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Farm is located on Northwest Point Road in West Bay just 8 miles from George Town. Tel: (345) 949 3893

Cayman Islands National Museum
Cayman Islands National MuseumThe Cayman Islands National Museum is dedicated to the preservation, research and dissemination of all aspects of the Caymanian heritage for present and future generations. In 1990, after years of planning, artifact conservation, and exhibit design, the Cayman Islands National Museum opened to the public in the Old Courts Building. The Museum can trace its roots to the 1930's when Mr. Ira Thompson began collecting Caymanian artifacts as a hobby. In 1979, the government purchased Mr. Ira's collection which became the nucleus of the National Museum collection. Today, the Museum's collection contains over 4,000 items ranging from tiny coins to a 14 foot catboat; natural history specimens to rare documents. Established as a place of learning and enjoyment, the Museum provides residents and visitors with a rich understanding of the Caymanian heritage through its exhibits and special activities. Open Mon – Fri 9.00am – 5.00pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm. Tel: (345) 949 8368

HellHell
Stop by and see Hell. That way, the next time someone tells you to go there, you can tell them you've already been! The post office at Hell has a lively trade postmarking cards and letters. It's a good place to mail those funny postcards appropriately postmarked "Hell, Grand Cayman".
Pedro St. James Castle
Pedro St. James CastlePedro St. James was built in 1780 by William Eden and has been completely restored to be the centre of this historic site. This great house is the Birthplace of Democracy in the Cayman Islands as the first government was formed in the building in 1831. The picturesque site, with a spacious lawn area and an intimate quadrangle, can be rented for meetings or social functions. It is equipped with high-quality tables, chairs and tents and can confortably accommodate as many as 400 persons. In addition, the spacious grounds now include a state-of-the-art Multi-Media Theatre and a Gift Shop. As one walks the site you will view the beautiful gardens and other restored buildings. There are interpretive signs throughout the "castle" and grounds which provide the history and description of the site. Open daily 9.00am to 5.00pm. Tel: (345) 947 3558

Queen Elizabeth Botanic Park
Queen Elizabeth Botanic ParkThe Botanic Park is an important example of the Cayman Islands commitment to the preservation of our terrestrial environment. This heritage attraction was officially opened on 27th February, 1994 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and named in her honor. The next milestone was reached in May 1997, when Hon. Thomas Jefferson, Minister for Tourism, Commerce & Transport, officially opened three new attractions there: the Visitors Centre, Floral Garden and Heritage Garden, representing the Park's $1.75 million, second phase expansion program. The park provides both residents and visitors with the opportunity to enjoy and better understand this country's diverse flora and fauna, which play an important part in Caymanian culture. Open daily 9.00am to 6.30pm. Located in Grand Cayman's North Side. Tel: (345) 947 3558

Stingray City
Has become Cayman's most famous dive site, located in shallow depths in Grand Cayman's North Sound. Here, more than 30 Southern Atlantic stingrays swim freely with snorkelers and divers in 12 ft. of water. The site can be reached only by boat. This is the real thing, this is the real ocean with real animals who are free to come and go as they choose, and they choose to be there because they hope that you might just come down there and feed them. Makes sense, when you think of it, who really wants to have to grub in the sand for a living? Feeding them has been compared to feeding a horse, while underwater - watch your fingers. Your guide will probably have cut-up bits of squid or ballyhoo fish to feed to the rays and will give you a piece or two at a time to feed them.

The National Trust for the Cayman Islands
National Trust historic walking tours of central George Town and West Bay, blowholes in East End district and historic buildings now being restored under the direction of the National Trust and National Historic Sites Committee, including the Old Savannah Schoolhouse which opened in September 1995. Walking tours of West Bay and George Town, if history is among your interests. The walks are self-guided, and pamphlets are available from the National Trust. Of course the Trust House is another source of fascinating information about the history, flora and fauna of these islands. George Town is visually interesting with a variety of architectural styles ranging from colonial structures to modern bank buildings. For the most part, the town is best covered on foot.

The Old HomesteadThe Old Homestead: "The pink cottage" on West Bay Rd
One of the most photographed buildings in the Cayman Islands, it is built of wattle and daub in the old Caymanian style, with the cook room out back, a wide porch trimmed with "gingerbread" in front, a sand yard all around, and a tin roof surrounded by gutters piped into a cistern to supply water to the house.
