The main passenger airport in the Cayman Islands, Owen Roberts International Airport, is located on Grand Cayman. Cayman Brac also has its own airport: Gerrard Smith International Airport. These two airports serve as the Cayman Islands main ports of entry for visitors. Little Cayman is served by daily inter-island flights. Cayman Islands are serviced by Cayman Airways, American Airlines, ATA, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Northwest, United Airlines, US Airways, Air Canada, British Airways, Air Jamaica. A number of charter flights also operate from US cities and Canada. Inter-island service between Grand Cayman (GCM), Cayman Brac (CYB) and Little Cayman (LYB) is provided by Cayman Airways and Island Air (approximately 40 minutes). Departure Tax: there is a CI $20.00 or US$25.00 departure tax for the Cayman Islands that is included in the price of your airline ticket.
Note: There is no ferry service between the islands.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All citizens require a passport, and possibly a visa.
TAXIS
Taxis are widely available on Grand Cayman and offer a fixed rate per vehicle or per person to all points on Grand Cayman.
DRIVER LICENCE
- To rent a car, click here. You must drive on the left-hand side of the road throughout the Cayman Islands. Visitors must obtain temporary drivers licenses from the police station or car rental agency, easily granted upon presenting a valid drivers licence. The license fee is currently US$7.50.
