Providenciales
Known locally as "Provo", Providenciales is the cosmopolitan centre of the Turks & Caicos Islands. Offering all the modern conveniences of home while maintaining the casual atmosphere that is the Caribbean, Providenciales provides quaint shops, modern restaurants and a superior getaway from the stresses and crowds of everyday.

Famous for its superb beaches, including the 12 mile stretch that is the spectacular Grace Bay beach, a golf club, two marinas at Sapodilla Bay and Leeward and many different bars and restaurants, Provo is a dream destination for vacationers to the Caribbean.

Historical points of interest include the Cheshire Hall and Richmond Hill Plantation ruins as well as the stones engraved by shipwrecked sailors which can be found on a hill overlooking Sapodilla Bay. The "Hole" at Long Bay is a deep and wide limestone chimney with a mysterious depth of salt water at the bottom. Provo is also the site of the world's only commercial Conch farm. Conch (pronounced "conk") is a mollusk in beautiful light pink shells and is the local delicacy. Other recommended excursions include Princess Alexandra Land and Sea Park and Nature Reserve, Chalk Sound Park, Frenchman's Creek Sanctuary, Pigeon Pond Sanctuary, and Northwest Point Pond and Water Cay Nature Reserve. Also, located at Water Cay is an Iguana Sanctuary that is well worth visiting.
East Caicos
East Caicos is an uninhabited island but is large in size being 18 square miles. Swamps and mangroves inundate a majority of the island. There is a splendid 17 mile beach on the north coast of the island, this is usually only used by Sea Turtles to lay their eggs because of the large mosquito population.
Middle Caicos
Being the largest of the islands Middle Caicos is 48 square miles of natural beauty. The coastline around Middle Caicos is more dramatic than that of the other islands, to the north there are Limestone cliffs with long sandy beaches. The south is dominated by swampland and tidal flats which almost covers half the island. Rain is plentiful on Middle Caicos, which is why the island is so green and ideal for agriculture. Middle Caicos is home to the largest caves in all Turks and Caicos at Conch Bar.
Parrot Cay
This is an island of 1000 lush acres, surrounded by white sand beaches, azure water and coral reefs. The island is rich with marine life and vegetation, including 175 species of birds, cactus groves, mangroves and wetlands. When you walk peacefully around the island, expect to see colorful flamingos and hummingbirds.
The island is home to one of the most exclusive and most beautiful five star resorts in the world.
Pine Cay
It is a secluded island a little over one mile wide and two miles long, approximately 800 acres in size. This island can best be described as a nature preserve. Pine Cay has several distinctive zones of vegetation, shared mainly by Palmettos and Pines. Tropical birds and Iguanas inhabit most of the island. On the island's northern end there are many freshwater lakes with species of salt water fish.
The prestigious Meridian Club offers visitors a total get-away vacation. No phone, no TV, no automobile, just peace, nine miles of nature trails and miles of pristine beach.
Grand Turk
Grand Turk is the capital of Turks and Caicos and the financial center of the islands. Grand Turk is one of the main historical points of Turks and Caicos. You will find many old buildings and ruins along with The Turks and Caicos National Museum. Grand Turk's main attraction is diving, with many dive operators and schools it can cater for novice snorkels to experienced divers. The major income for the island is dive orientated tourism. There is an outstanding protected coral reef which has clear and calm waters.
North Caicos
North Caicos boasts the largest flock of Pink Flamingo in the islands. There are Loyalist plantation ruins, the grandest of which is Wades green. Cottage Pond on the road to Sandy Point is a large pool of tropical vegetation. There are flocks of Flamingos at Flamingo Pond and Mud Hole Pond. You will find ospreys and their nesting sites on the adjacent Three Mary Cays, and a wide variety of other birds on the islands extensive nature reserves and sanctuaries. Iguanas on the nearby East Bays Cays are an outstanding example of the natural diversity of this green island.
Gibbs Cay
Located on the Atlantic side of Grand Turk, this uninhabited island is thought to be the location of a French gun emplacement during the 1780s, and has shown evidence of Indian occupation. Now you can explore the wonderment of Gibbs Cay and the surrounding clear water.
Salt Cay
From early in the 1700's until 1960's, Salt Cay was one of the largest exporters of salt in the world. You can still tour the Salinas (salt ponds) and windmills where the salt was actually produced. Salt Cay has several historical churches and old plantation homes to view, where salt was stored prior to shipping. Being the most remote island, snorkeling and scuba diving is some of the best in the world!
January through March is the migration of the magnificent Humpback Whales. Salt Cay is considered the "Humpback Whale Headquarters" as the island sits directly in the Columbus Passage where the whales migrate to the Silver Banks.
South Caicos
South Caicos is famous for its fishing and natural deepwater harbor. It’s bonefish flats stretch for more than 40 miles. Here is the centre of the country's third most important industry after tourism, and offshore finance — the harvesting of conch and spiny lobster for export. The island’s freeze plants, which are a must see; export thousands of pounds of seafood annually.
South Caicos also offers world-class diving and beautiful white sandy beaches. Scuba divers delight in the variety of marine life, including loggerhead turtles, spotted eagle rays, octopuses and barracudas.
Huge wall-growing sponges stretch for more than 100 feet. Attractions include the 18th century Commissioner’s House and the Boiling Hole.
